Pakistan, Qatar sign 10-year LNG supply deal

Ag APP ISLAMABAD: Qatar will provide Pakistan three million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for 10 years after the two countries entered into an agreement on Friday, a move that is aimed at addressing the nation’s dwindling gas resources. Prime Minister Imran Khan witnessed the signing of an agreement that took place here at the PM House. Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan and Qatar’s Energy Minister Saad Sherida al-Kaabi signed the agreement. Qatar’s Minister al-Kaabi termed the agreement with Pakistan “historic” and expressed confidence that it would open up new vistas of development. He said Qatar would also promote bilateral cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.

Sindh University, WWF-Pakistan sign MoU to protect environment

National February 27, 2021 SUKKUR: The University of Sindh, Jamshoro, and World Wide Fund for Nature, Pakistan (WWF-P), have agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in order to work together to tackle environmental hazards. In this regard, the CEO of WWF-P, Dr Tahir Rasheed called on the vice-chancellor of Sindh University, Prof Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro and discussed the partnership regarding the environment of the varsity through planting saplings after signing the MoU. He said the WWF-P would provide support and funding for the plantation drive at Sindh University aiming at protecting the environment, adding to emphasise the need for building partnership with well-cognizant national/international partners to meet modern-day challenges in the perspective of climate change.
